On Saturay 13th February 2010 We will have pleasure in welcoming back to North Moreton one of the most wonderful, world-class opera sopranos in the UK today - Nicki Kennedy - who has kindly agreed to give a candle-lit Valentine's recital in North Moreton church together with acclaimed tenor John Bowley (formerly a BBC singer).
Those of you who heard Nicki sing in our church with Raphael Sikorsky back in 1996 may remember what a poignant, entertaining and uplifting performance she gave, following which many requests have been made over the years for her to come back and sing again. This time Nicki and John will sing a variety of classical and modern solos and duets about the trials and tribulations of love through the ages, from composers such as Handel, Schubert, Granados, Quilter, Bernstein and Cole Porter, as well as many favourites from popular shows.
The event will be sponsored by many local businesses and individuals to help raise an ambitious target of around £6,000 which will contribute to the £150,000 needed for essential repair and improvement to parts of our historic church.
This is no ordinary concert!
