Is planning permission required for new nasty looking walls built out of cheap orange brick built on roadsides in the village?

Please be aware that although the village loves to hear your views but it would be nice if you had the courage to log in and register so that we know who is posting that comment...
If we receive too many anonymous postings we can change the forum so that everyone who posts has to register. If anyone has a suggestion to make regarding this then please feel free to post (!)

This is a living village, not a museum. Whilst I appreciate everyone has their views on what is tasteful and is not tasteful, what fits into a village like NM and what doesn't. Getting planning permission for something will not mean we all agree if it fits into the local surroundings. Personally I find UPVC windows terrible, but we have modern houses in NM and I would not comment if they decided that they wish to replace the original wooden ones with UPVC. So long as we don't get stone cladding and tower blocks, I think we are doing pretty well in having houses and surroundings that fit in well. Also - say who you are when commenting PLEASE.. Anon comments are just not cricket
