Adrian,
Did you mean Gladys Williams who lived in Gate Cottage until 3.5.1973? or were you thinking of Brooke Williams, son of Emlyn (George) Williams, actor and playwright, who lived in Orchard Cottage until 1974/5, with wife Liz. I have memories of them with their friends Richard Burton, Liz Taylor, Tracey Reed, (wife of "Dr.Finlay") all drinking in The Bear in the early seventies, when it was not like it is today!

David and Pam Williams lived at the Corner House, Wallingford Road between September 1978 and December 1982, when they moved to Wales to farm sheep. Roger Templeman

A bit late now probably but; Mrs Brown, who was a very close friend of my mother lived at Orchard House around the dates quoted, she then moved to No2 Elm Road where she lived until her death sometime in the mid 1980s' (I think) We used to live at No2 Elm Road before Mrs Brown but moved to Dunsomer Hill in 1968. When Mrs Brown moved out of Orchard House it was extensively renovated and then bought by the Stanleys (I Think that was their name) Mr Stanley I believe held some position in the Police and I think Mrs Stanley was a schools inspector.
