Hi Keith, I am also tracing the Davis family history, and if you are using ancestry.co.uk, you find all the information I have so far gathered. My tree also ends in North Moreton, with Stephen and Jane. My grandfather was Edward C S Davis, who's father was Charles Stephen Davis who was born in 1874 in Hampstead Norris.

Hi There, I have just come across this little Gem of ' North Moreton Notice Board Website'
Posting on boards' is fairly new to me as I mostly read them..
History Question time..
Who used to live in orchard house between at least 1964 and 1971.
Appx in what house (name) / area did Ms wililams live before she moved to Tenbury on Wells
What used to be between the Passmore's house and the houses leading up to orchard house
Can anyone can answer the above, if so I will update you with some more village history!
A bit late now probably but;
Mrs Brown, who was a very close friend of my mother lived at Orchard House around the dates quoted, she then moved to No2 Elm Road where she lived until her death sometime in the mid 1980s' (I think) We used to live at No2 Elm Road before Mrs Brown but moved to Dunsomer Hill in 1968. When Mrs Brown moved out of Orchard House it was extensively renovated and then bought by the Stanleys (I Think that was their name) Mr Stanley I believe held some position in the Police and I think Mrs Stanley was a schools inspector.

North Moreton Fete will be held this year on Sunday 10th May. Come along to the Croft at 2pm for a great afternoon out for all the family. Hello, I don't live in the village but I do jog in North Moreton. I love the village because of the cleanliness, lovely historic church, and people making an effort to make their gardens looking lovely and presentable. But behind the good looks of the houses that there's something that is unsightly to see is the allotment which there's lot of rubbish not being maintained and a boat , a horse box parked behind the houses and it looks terrible. Which is ashame!!!!!!

Hello hope this is of use. I have the registers for both North and South Moreton on CD. Edward Davis was baptised in All Saints on 23 April 1743, parents Stephen and Jane. Others to the same parents were: Stephen was baptised on 14 Feb 1735 Thomas on 17 July 1734 Ann on 8 Feb 1729 Jane on 4 Feb 1727 John on 17 March 1744 Stephen 17 April 1747 (no record of the other Stephen's death although I would have assumed that to be the case)
Another plea to dog owners « Result #20 on Mar 19, 2008, 5:49pm »
Even after a polite note on this notice board and a letter in the NM News, it seems that a minority of dog owners are just d**n lazy or couldn't care less about their village.
Frankly I am getting fed up with clearing up the dog mess from outside of my house. Some of you let your dogs do it right in front of my front gate, so we end up stepping in it.
Maybe you would like to pay for the rug in my hallway to be cleaned.
